For example, zones are ideal for desk bookings where users reserve space until capacity is met. Unlike individual desk reservations, the exact seat location is not important; the booking is based on the total available capacity of the zone.<\/p>\n<p>However, there are situations where you may need to block an entire zone. For instance, during a meeting or event that requires exclusive use of the entire area. Instead of creating individual reservations for every seat, you can simply &#8220;block&#8221; the zone.<\/p>\n<p>Block-a-Zone functionality is now available to all admins and location managers in officeAdmin. If this feature is successfully adopted, we will consider extending it to all &#8216;elevated roles&#8217; in the new web app.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to Block a Zone<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Navigate to the &#8216;Planner&#8217; view in officeAdmin.<\/li>\n<li>Select a time slot; the booking popup will appear.<\/li>\n<li>Check the &#8216;Block entire zone&#8217; option and save your reservation.<\/li>\n<li>Once saved, the reservation will be highlighted in maroon.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What If There Are Existing Reservations?<\/strong><br \/>\nA zone cannot be blocked if there are existing reservations. In such cases, you must either cancel or move the existing reservations to proceed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to Test<\/strong><br \/>\nTo test the feature, attempt to create a new reservation within a blocked zone.
