In 2024, we laid the groundwork for the implementation of DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) and DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting, and Conformance) in conjunction with SPF (Sender Policy Framework). As part of these preparations, a dedicated mail server was set up. Previously, email traffic was routed through various tenants, with the primary sender address being no-reply@officebooking.net.

The goals of implementing DKIM and DMARC are to enhance email security by providing clear sender authentication and to reduce false spam classifications.

Over the past few months, we conducted extensive testing in specific environments, including our own Office 365 implementation. Now, we are ready to proceed to the next phase: rolling out the solution to all our clients.

Benefits of DKIM and DMARC Implementation

Enhanced Email Security

DKIM and DMARC add an extra layer of protection to your emails by ensuring they are properly authenticated. This prevents email spoofing, making it significantly harder for malicious actors to impersonate your domain.

Reduced Spam Misclassification

By properly signing your emails using DKIM and enforcing DMARC policies, your outgoing emails are less likely to be flagged as spam, improving deliverability and trustworthiness among recipients.

Customised Sender Domains

The implementation also supports the growing demand from clients to use their own domains as the sender address, rather than the default no-reply@officebooking.net. This allows organisations to maintain consistent branding across their email communications.

Next Steps for Single Tenants

To move forward with the implementation, both Officebooking and the client administrator will need to perform specific steps. The process includes configuring DNS settings, implementing DKIM and DMARC records, and testing the setup to ensure smooth operation.

While the process is straightforward for many, certain steps require assistance from our Technical Support Team. If your organisation is interested in implementing DKIM/DMARC or transitioning to using your own domain as the sender, please reach out to us. Our team will guide you through the process and provide the necessary support.

By adopting DKIM and DMARC, your organisation can enjoy enhanced email security, improved deliverability, and consistent branding in all email communications. Contact our Technical Support Team today to get started with the implementation!
