Troubleshooting Wayfinding

This section describes how to solve the most common issues with the Wayfinding kiosk. The steps below apply specifically to the TW2223AS-B1 display running Android 12. To check which device and Android version you have, go to “Settings” on the display. If your device or version differs, the steps may not apply; in that case, please contact OfficeBooking support at support@officebooking.net.

Before you start

The power button

The power button is located on the back of the display, at the bottom right. Press it briefly to turn the display on, or hold it for a few seconds to turn it off. You can also restart the display by unplugging the power cable and plugging it back in.

Opening the application

After the display starts, the home screen appears. You can open the Wayfinding application in two ways:

  1. Tap “OfficeBooking Interactive Signage” on the home screen.
  2. Or go to “Settings” > “Apps”, select “OfficeBooking Interactive Signage” and tap “Open”.

In most cases, the application opens automatically within a minute after starting the display.

The screen is off

Check that the power cable is properly connected to both the display and the power outlet. Then press the power button to turn on the display. The application should open automatically. If it doesn’t, open it manually as described under “Opening the application”.

The application keeps loading

If the application keeps showing a loading animation, restart it as follows:

  1. Hold the power button for a few seconds to turn off the display, or unplug the power cable.
  2. Turn the display back on. The blue home screen appears.
  3. Tap the gear icon at the bottom center to open “Settings” and check that the display is connected to the internet. If there is no connection, reconnect to the network or contact your IT department.
  4. Return to the home screen and open the application.

Another screen is shown instead of the application

If the application has closed and a different screen is visible, open the application again as described under “Opening the application”. If you can’t reach the home screen, restart the display using the power button and open the application once the blue home screen appears.

A system bar is visible at the bottom of the screen

After a restart, the Android system bar may appear at the bottom of the screen. To hide it:

  1. Go to “Settings” > “Accessibility” > “System controls”.
  2. Turn on “Hide system bar”.

The application should then open automatically within a minute. If it doesn’t, open it manually.

The display goes into sleep mode

To prevent the display from going into sleep mode, change the screen timeout setting. Since you can’t access the settings while the application is running, restart the display first:

  1. Hold the power button for a few seconds to turn off the display, or unplug the power cable.
  2. Turn the display back on. The blue home screen appears.
  3. Go to “Settings” > “Display” and set “Screen timeout” to “Never”.

The application should reopen automatically. If it doesn’t, open it manually.

A login screen is shown

If the application has been logged out, you’ll need login credentials to log in again. Your administrator can request these from OfficeBooking support at support@officebooking.net. After logging in, select “Pathfinding” to open the Wayfinding application.

Cleaning the screen

Don’t use water or cleaning liquids on the screen. Instead, gently wipe away fingerprints and dirt with a dry microfiber cloth.
