How to Restrict Reservations to Opening Hours

You can restrict users from making reservations outside a location’s designated opening hours. When activated, users will receive an error message if they attempt to create a reservation that starts or ends outside the allowed times.

Step 1: Activate the Restriction

  1. Navigate to ‘Settings’ in the OfficeAdmin menu.

  2. The page will automatically open on the ‘General’ tab.

  3. Scroll down to ‘Restrict reservations within opening hours’.

  4. Select the option ‘Restricted’ to activate the setting.

  5. Click ‘Save’ to apply the changes.

Important:
After activating the restriction, make sure that opening hours are correctly configured for your locations. Without defined opening hours, the system will treat the location as closed on all days, preventing any reservations.

Step 2: Set Opening Hours

To ensure the restriction works correctly, configure the opening hours for each location:

  1. Navigate to ‘Locations’ in the main menu.

  2. Select the location where you want to set or update opening hours.

  3. Click ‘Edit’.

  4. Open the ‘Opening Hours’ tab.

  5. Add an opening time by selecting a day, entering the correct start and end times, and clicking ‘Add’.

  6. Repeat this for all relevant (working) days.

  7. Once all days are configured, click ‘Save opening hours’.

Note: If you leave a day blank, the location will be considered closed on that day.

Step 3: Set Custom Opening Hours

In addition to setting default opening hours, you can create custom opening hours for specific dates.
Custom opening hours override the default opening times on the specified day.

Example:
A location is normally open from 08:00 to 22:00. However, on May 5th, the location will close early at 14:00. You can create a custom opening hour for May 5th to reflect this.

To add custom opening hours:

  1. Navigate to ‘Locations’ in the main menu.

  2. Select the location where you want to configure custom hours.

  3. Click ‘Edit’.

  4. Open the ‘Opening Hours’ tab.

  5. Navigate to ‘Configure custome opening hours’
  6. Click ‘Add’.

  7. Select the specific date and enter the adjusted opening and closing times.

  8. Click ‘Save’ to apply the custom hours.

Note:

  • Custom opening hours take priority over default opening hours on the selected date.

  • If no custom hours are set for a specific date, the default opening hours will apply.
